Laminating
Laminating in the plastic industry is the uniting of two or more materials together. A laminate is a construction where two or more layers of glass or carbon fibre fabrics are laminated by means of a reaction resin (thermosets). One distinguish in-between different methods:
- Hand lay up
- Automatic lay up (e.g. winding process)
Long term inner pressure test
A long term inner pressure test is performed to simulate the service life of a pipe or fitting as a function of inner pressure and temperature. The design stress intensity is calculated out of the collapse pressure by means of the barlow`s formula.
